Black History Month

October is Black History Month in the UK and this year’s theme is ‘Reclaiming Narratives.’

Please see the PowerPoint below that Mr Ruck shared with the KS1 children in assembly on 8/10/24.

The children found out about Black History Month and why it is important we celebrate it.

This year’s theme is about ensuring the contributions of black people, past and present, are celebrated and accurately retold.

During the assembly the children learned about the contributions made to history by

Rosa Parks and Nelson Mandela.

Throughout October classes will learn about other important people from Black history.

You can click on the links within the PowerPoint to find out more information.
